OK Server up - Connection Error

OK i had server working ofline, works great.
Changed all I.P's to my I.P found in

Start >all programs > accessories > command prompt

/IPCONFIG

got the I.P starting with 172 as i am a AOL user.
I can log in, game works fine.

Other ppl now cant connect, they get conection closed
IN my MIR SERVER CONTROL there is a different IP address starting with 169
I have tried both of these IP on a different machine which connects to al other servers
And still it says connection closed
even tried both I.P's the one with 172 & the one with 169
never reached this far b4 , help would be much appreciated plz

yup ZOne Alarm but it asked to allow mir and the gates when laoded up i sed "permit" and "always use this action"

I gotta allow the ports etc?

No, but just shut down zone alarm while you run the server and see if that works. ZA is known to cause problems with everything lol.

Then you have an IP problem somewhere within the files. I am pretty sure that some IP's need to stay as 127.0.0.1, so i would suggest you starting the files using a server starter, or go through the files bit by bit and wichever files use port 7000-7300 need to be as your global IP, others can stay as 127.0.0.1 but i am also not completely sure on this one.

What's your aol's ip?

10.x.x.x
172.16.x.x
172.31.x.x
192.168.x.x

these are all PRIVATE IPs.

169 is also a windows' private ip if dhcp timeout.

Ok m8, im sorry u have lost me after the part where u sed Private IP's
Could you please tell me then how to obtain the correct IP.
And what i shud do to fix the problem

ipconfig should should the right thing if you don't use a router/nat

http://www.dnsart.com:7777/myip.php

go there and it will tell you the ip...
