How do they work? What are they? How many weeks in a season etc?

Not sure if this helps....

The ranked ladder has a soft reset (basically the Elo 'ladder' is scrunched together; those at 1200 will stay at 1200, but everyone else will be moved closer). There are no other direct effects on you unless you're involved in the competitive scene (championships) and a few other minor details (during the Season One championship, they had minimal changes from patches, only dealing with bug fixes and playability issues, no balance changes).

Oh, it's to do with ranked games. I thought it might be something more significant than that

Also applies to when tournaments start. New season, new tourney. (We have just finished season 6 I believe?)

We are in season 2, its just rank reset really no time scale its as they seem fit sort of thing
