server not working. 1.9 help!! amg!

k well i downloaded gimps foundation files.

i read his readme. and all files 'seem' to run ok apart from gamegate.

im at uni, im behind a passworded proxy. so i can only run my server on 127.0.0.1

im using 1.9 files

am i still able to use 1.9? i thought the 3in1 thing may stop me or sumthing

i havnt checked, but all ips should be 127.0.0.1

all i get is connection closed.

fire wall mayb? and on 1 gate it says "Foundation" at the top and on the otha's "ktest", jus 2 warn ya... dunno if it will effect it tho, soz!

It is just the title of the window. Doesn't effect it.

Are you sure that you have everything set up correctly client side?

what is there to setup? i downloaded your foundation server files, and downloaded your client+inis.rar

im using 2.0 client, with your exe and inis.

do i need to run 3in1 when im just running my server on 127.0.0.1?

also sometimes. most times. my gamegate server doesnt wanna close. it just stays like ---------] [-----

yet all the ips are correct.

All the files and everything is running correct. Your proxy/firewall whatever behind you are at uni, is stopping you from connecting to the server.

its not my uni fw/proxy. as i disconnect from the internet befor i load the server up. ill try shutting down my local fw

on menu (C) click it and go to the bottom until u see 2 things which popout to the right

Hmm Can't tell... But if you relate to this Guide, it's very simple and it defentley 100% works if you follow all of the steps correctly took me a few mins from nothing to a offline server fully working.

I personally think it's very good, but you don't have to do it, it's up to you.

from trial and error and running my server of 5 different computers, most errors are down to invalid ip usage.

to answer your question, yes u need to run a reg server of somekind even to run it on 127.0.0.1, if u need further help with it farril pm me ur msn
