Heroes Trying to get server online

Hey people,

To see whether some things work i decided to try and put server up so a few mates can test the server.

For some reason nobody seems to get further than this screen :

When i look at the Rungate i get a strange message:

I run a TP-Link Router with the latest DD-Wrt build, ports 7000, 7100 and 7200 are opened and tested with:
http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ and http://www.canyouseeme.org/, i tried setting router up in UPNP mode but that didnt seem to do the trick either.

The files are configured per http://www.lomcn.org/forum/showthread.php?74475-All-In-One-Hero-Guides
with the proper IP adres in the adressed files from that thread.

If anybody can think of something i might have done wrong i'd appreciate the heads up, thanks!

Yes, for sure! i used my WAN ip, i followed the getting online part from the thread i mentioned above! ^^

The strange thing tho is that my Local IP is 192.168.11.104 and when i try to connect either with the same machine or a different one it always says: " [12:33:13] Null connection port attack: 192.168.11.1" which is my default gateway, which makes it very strange.

The same occurs when a mate of mine tries to connect but the 192.168.11.1 adres changes to his WAN IP

Isnt it strange that it says 'port attack' ? for some reason i get the impression it blocks the client from accessing the server because it mistakes it for a attack, what about you guys?^^

Is there perhaps a different port besides 7000,7100 and 7200 that needs to be forwarded?

Chances are you have filled in the IP fields incorrectly, or the ports have not been forwarded successfully.
Re-check all the IP's, server names, & database names are correct (Do this 3-4 times and go through every ini file)

Nope, these are the only ports that are used.

Use the IP address: 127.0.0.1 rather than your own IP's, leave the ones that say 0.0.0.0 as they are & dont touch them.
If you need any further help just follow the setup guides for which IP's you need to change

Hello there,

After trying a few things i found my problem and solved the above, however now comes a new problem for which i had already opened a thread but didnt get a response to.

After selecting a char i do not get a notice screen, the screen stays black and nothing happens, any thoughts as to what may be the issue?

try redoing your Ports. urm i duno what ruby files are like but i would advise not using heroes in all fairness...

and yea i have a heroes server but its nothing like the Material shud i say thats here on lomcn.
Reason i say this is . there is over 3,000 bugs me and my team found
Via Source and Via Script/Vars + GamePlay in General
Ai's was coded something Chronic and renders them to Bug out and Crash Server

ill help where i can but take heed on my advise

There are not Actual Coders that will sit and code Heroes and release to lomcn

I did on the Other hand notice a Post on Ruby from a Coder with a huge list of Fixes for the server files
and looks promising . but thats up to you guys i suppose

try checking your ports as this is the main reason this is happening
if its not the ports make sure ALL IPS are Correct

DBServer > !serverinfo.txt - ip goes here
LoginSrv > !addrtable.txt - ip goes here too
Mir200 > !RunAddr.txt - last ip goes here

OK screen is usually down to the SelGate, look at your IP's etc in that folder

The ip's at the selgate are as followed, see screenshot:


I did not touch it as it did not say so in the guides in the first place, ports are opened since i am running a DMZ for the server machine with proper routing at work, any further thoughts? ^^

Unusual, try inboxing iJam or somebody for further help.

Yes, certainly! i have sent iJam a pm concerning the problem i am experiencing.

What i will also try just to be sure, i will redownload the server files and unpack it clean and try the 127.0.0.1 config whether that gets fired up or not.

Redownloaded the files, unpacked them, left them untouched and fired server up, i get the EXACT problem i have when setting it up for WAN ... LOL ?!

Be sure to disable any anti virus software on the host machine. also disable windows firewall then try for a test
