and their constant blocking of every torrent site.

Download TOR (The Onion Router) Browser Bundle.

Works off of firefox, basically allows you to visit any website (blocked or not) because you're browsing completely anonymously.

Tor should never be used for torrents. Not only is it slow, it comprises the anonymity of you and other people in your network.

I used to use pak files, but the immunicity, the main host has been taken down by met.

Wow that first one is shocking.. what MB do you pay for? reminds me of the good old 56k dial up

It's 8mb

I did another one and got 0.15mb or something.

Just gave the router a reset and its back up to 8meg. Weird...

I used to use pak files, but the immunicity, the main host has been taken down by met.

I meant to get access to the torrent sites and obtain the torrenting/magnet link, not to actually torrent via TOR - I'm well aware of how TOR and torrenting (or any downloading through TOR without sufficient protection for that matter) compromises you and the network node you're attached to.

Sadly 90% of UK ISP's have blocked access to torrent sites through normal means. Best they can do really to stop the "general public" from torrenting.

On a positive note, switching over to BT Infinity package with a no-cap on my bandwidth line in about 10days. Exactly the same price as Virgin Media but with better down/up speeds and finally no cap on my down/up if I go above their "threshhold".

Virgin Media really do rip you off if you use your bandwidth to its fullest =/

My Virgin Media results for anyone interested. Will update when on the BT line.

Ah fair enough, sorry :)

I've just moved house and use a different ISP now. Unfortunately they're a lot slower than Virgin, but don't block any torrent sites.

I had a wee spell selling BT Broadband, phone and TV. IMO they are great for broadband, if you can get fibre.

1 street away from me has fibre, but according to BT my street isn't a viable place to update the street cabinet. ****ERS.
