ANY advice on spec or spec suggestions etc. is welcomed! I know im probably a bit behind on putting together specs as ive not done any 64 bit systems before and ive not upgraded for over 2 years, so any spec between £600 - £700 is what im looking at. The Opteron spec is pie in the sky really like!!!

Cheers

EPoX EP-9NPA3 SLI, nForce4 SLI, Socket 939, ATX, S-ATA2, GbLAN, DDR, PCI-Ex16
AMD Opteron 165, 1.8GHz, Socket 939, 2MB, BOXED w/fan
POINT OF VIEW GeForce 7800GT 256MB, PCI-Express, VIVO, DVI, Retail
TwinMOS PC3200 DDR-DIMM 1024MB Dual Pack Kit w/two matched PC3200 DDR DIMMs
Tagan Easycon 580W, Modular Cables, 120m Fan, 4xSATA, ATX/EPS, SLI, 20/24pin
Total: £687

Ok, how does this spec compare with the specs i have qouted in my previous post? Alsop, is there any benefit to having a dual opteron system? I am wanting to run games like HL2, Q4 F.E.A.R etc. in v.high res and high detail compared to what I have now! My current rig only allows me to run fear in 800x600 no AA/AF or any other details that make the game look impressive.

Cheers.

The Matrix!!
Just been checking some benchmarks, in apps it seems as good as the X2 3800+ & the 920 & 930 Intels, yet in games it seems to blow the Intels away and keep pace with the X2 3800+ which is good!

I wasnt aware the Opterons had gone dual core, seems you learn somthing new everyday. Looks like I will go this way. Is that Epox board more than adequete or should I go for the DFI boards? Also, is the stock cooler sufficient? I have a Giga-Byte 3D cooler atm which seems to have multiple applications but im not sure if S939 is one of them.

Cheers
