XP only booting up in Debug mode

hi all


bit of a problem tbh, when i boot my computer up i have to hit f8 and choose debuggin mode to get into windows, other wise it just stays on the xp screen -.-

its annoying me now coz when i get home i generally stick my computer on and go down stairs to make a brew, however i need to wait to catch it and put it in debug mode.


i have to do this all the time,


any suggestions plz?

Possibly a corrupt windows file, try a system backup, or reinstall windows.

cheers, it happened when i installed SP1 so should i just reinstall SP1?

You can usually uninstall SP1 via control panel, add/remove software to put it back to before the installation. I had some problems with SP2 before, uninstalled, reinstalled no problem

cool, well the only worry i have is if i uninstall SP1 itll **** up my other hard drive as its 200GB, and original XP wont read over 136gb on a hard drive which is the reason why i originally installed SP1 =/

theres sp2 now download a new verison of xp pro with sp2 and it should be fine then depart the hardrives into 2 so have a c drive and a d drive make the c enough for just windows xp cd then use ur d for everything like music games ect... so u dont have any problems of losing stuff if u format ur pc again

i have a 120gb hard drive which has like Windows XP on and other stuff, but i have another Hard Drive which is like 200gb,

im just wondering if i try and reinstall SP1 will it make it worse?
