That is an old 192 core 260, so no it isn't worth it.
Dont get the 4850 X2 either, dual GPU's don't always scale well.

It's an okay spec, but prebuilts tend to come with ****ty Motherboards, ****ty RAM, ****ty cases, and very ****ty Power Supplies (NOT good). You could of built a much better PC by yourself.
It's possible that the new GTX 260 could of put more of a strain on your CPU, or as people have already said, the card is putting out too much heat.
What Case do you have?, if it's just a generic case then theres your problem, such a card as the GTX 260 needs decent airflow.
