Screw the raptor, you can get a drive with 4x more space, twice more cache and just as fast for the same price if not less.

amd 4000+ or amd3800+

600-650, dont rly wanna go any higher. id like 2 get a amd3800+, n a decent graphics card, id b using it for gaming mainly, and a gig ram stick.
I've uploaded two different configs. the first has a single core processor and a 7800 GT and is great for gaming. The second one has an X2 3800+ and has an X800 XL and is pretty good for gaming (however, games like F.E.A.R. and some new releases will have problems if you try to crank the graphics all the way up, but you will be able to play them, just with lower settings).
If you game a lot and you're not going to buy a new system in the next 6 months then I would either A) stick with the first config with the 7800 GT, the GFX card is CRUCIAL for gaming or B) save up another 80 pounds over config 1 and you can get an X2 3800+ and a 7800 GT. I would wait for option B.
