I'd like to see Maybe the skill level dropped and put ingame earlier with lower damage until you hit the actual required level for the skill then it will work an intended although i LOVE the idea your bringing to the table, i'm really not feeling 1.4-1.9, especially as a warrior the skill's are just a bore thrust killing etc.

Obviously it's your server so it's down to you but i just really feel up until 1.9 it would only appeal to a small set of players, going to be a good few months of step back thrust pvping it would be so slow and painful i'd just quit before the good content got there. It's not like FroZen files where you have aspeed 10 step back thrust someone to death in a second, u'd be lucky to land it lol.

Nice idea. If you find the out test files. They are the real files till 2.3. Alot of good info in them.

I am sure I still got the old sound files kicking around. At times I even tried to substitute on my client but patching always reverted that and I got tired of it.

I don't recall the original spider skins since spiders were too hard when the patch came in, they were toned down later I believe, I think I just popped in and was flushed out right away to even notice any skins :distracted:

Low dura warning would be fine (active one, not that 'low dura panel' most servers got nowadays), I suppose it would be set to warn when it fell to 0 dura. But the thrill in those days was staying on the hunt as long as you dared with dura 0 because that really was 0.999 and dropping to 0.000 when the breakage would come in.

Thing is, in those days we thought that frequent repairs did hammer your top dura more than if you waited for dura to fall to zero :confused:

I recall now that little dura checking program made by Gadget or was it that other mir gizmo maker, can't recall the name on the spot now - dura info was stored in the client and you could check the actual item dura in your bag (I believe it didn't work on equipped items or in the storage)
It wasn't used to monitor your items dura in order that you didn't break them but to sell off non-special repair items just before their dura dropped, like selling para ring dura1 :pirate: which dropped to zero on first repair :@: that didn't happen to me as I had couple dura5 paras from that famous easter hen event (Artificial mir replicated that event this spring and I think it shot itself in foot with it, don't even think of it) but was conned with more common jewelry

Don't forget the casino, no idea which patch it came in, also BC initially didn't have those middle/main/FPC caves as well as ZT had 4 floors, that all came sometimes later. Just noting that, I know most of it is common knowledge around here

With nostalgia I recall those days when the item info was showing at the bottom section of your bag (and avatar?) panel, integral with it, no pop ups at mouse tip... not sure you could or want to replicate that (would be tons of work? - but then again, we still have old clients and maybe even servers that have it? I guess they would be coded in Delphi...). But it definitely had a charm that pop up descriptions never had and never will have. And they constantly get in the way, obscure quick slots, but what u gonna do :eek:ffended:

Will you be adding Sins as per patch notes tooo :D?.... This will ultimately eliminate the competitive market early game for DC items... also I can imagine it'll see a whole new version of sins, with spells being balanced accordingly as their OP skills will not seem soo OP!

The idea is to force people to use lower level content and to stop people geeking it to 40 and getting fully kitted and miles ahead....


By your suggestion, it should go Bichon, oma caves, bug caves, Prajna, BDD.. :lol

I get the point completely , I just don’t think it would work and the novelty would wear off very fast once everyone took off their rose tinted glasses.

Would be fun for a while , and yeah there might be some initial interest but realistically unless the content is adjusted enough to make it enough interesting for more than a few weeks. Mir players are impatient now , that’s why every server that comes up everybody is crying for more content within a few weeks , I don’t think many people are going to be buzzing their tits off to wait 2 months to go hunt in a cave they’ve hunted for 15 years

Sounds like a really nice idea. Stick to the plan and release the patches in intervals like you intend to. Don't listen to the minority moaners who do not understand the concept of a nostalgic server.

Just out of inerest, when your server has been running for 5 years, will you be doing the 5 year anniversary event? I remember leaving official Mir shortly after that and joining RageZone.

Sounds like a good idea and as stated above - I would stick with rolling things out slowly and as you intend to - I wouldn't give in to everyone saying, nah just do it all from the start and up the exp/drops.

That defeats the entire point.... if you're creating a nostalgic Euro style server, it needs to be a slow grind. People played for the social interaction and banter, not the ****ing game, the game itself sucks.

I'll definitely play.

don't spoil it by double experience weekends or or some 'happy hour' or whatever, especially guild exp buffs - why promote guilds, to make them more attractive? as if they wouldn't form otherwise? I don't see any logic in guild exp buffs (the more accomplished, bigger the guild gets, the higher exp buffs it gets, while non guilded pple can get accomplished too and get ^&* all)

if anything, there should be exp and other penalties if a guild gets too big or accomplished, that would naturally keep their size within some reasonable limits without having to put caps on membership as many servers need to do, this of course goes beyond the server on hand here

Not sure how euro was with guild exp buffs (I didn't join them) but it it had some, it would have been perhaps justified then, but not today when pple are so accomplished when it comes to playing mir

we are still to see a server on which experience would be sacred, meaning total level playing field, when everybody's level would truly or directly reflect the mobs they killed and exp points got from them without any addition above standard exp, I thought that fishing server would be like that but it had some exp weekend just now :sorrow:

Make it so you have to AFK skill level and leveling is super slow, 26 should be 1 week solid grind or 2 weeks casual at first until further patches

Really simple, and I like it.

Not sure how it would pan out long term though. Though I do miss the days of grinding in BW mines for days on end just to get that level 22 armour.

The trick is to try recreate that feeling.

Yer real about grinding brings back true meaning of levelling can’t wait hope it brings back true feeling it was like on original legend of Mir

Can't wait for all the crys when people are 1 week in trying to kill each other with thrusting hating the server. Nobody is going to want to play up untill 1.9 apart from a select 15-20 people. No shade just factual information. 1.4 private was only fun because of the aspeed.. even playing a wizz was terrible trying to hit that lightning.

have to agree, i like the fact everyone is being positive about the server but really now thinking about it, the real feeling aint going to be there due to.

1. there wont be 1000+ players
2. dunno how ur going to go about griefing, but it was part of the experience, and euro gms didnt get involved one bit from my knownledge (lets face it some of us paid monthly just to do this...)
3. the community right now will cry at the most smallest of things, to give the true feeling back will mean ignoring everyone and taking no1s ideas in to consideration (after all euro gms didnt listen to fart from people) people got hacked/robbed/recall pked doubt the whole feeling can be replaced.

never once would u log on and see major changes to skills and stuff, only since these new C# files came out did u start to witness this.

eg. curse was same cooldown, same cursed amount of time, same cost, untill u lvled it up ofcourse (i think this will be your real challenge as people are going to be crying for power spikes for there class, very common behavior today.

4months for TDB.... im going to cry already hahaha

Ohh i do miss griefing on P server with JerryTheBerry recall pking people... Grief was maybe one of the most fun things to do on Euro once you had the things to do so.
