AVG warning

I've got windows 7 64 and i have been using AVG. my pc has had no problems and AVG said i needed to restart for an update to work, so i did it and it totally ****ed my pc up so i had to do a restore.

I doubt AVG would have done this, Its probly a virus you got and AVG prompted for a reboot to either download the virus database update for that particular virus or prompted to reboot to try resolve the virus. Iv never had any issues with AVG and have used it for about 3 years.

However Microsoft Security Essentials > most internet secuirty programmes on the market atm and its free.

I switched from AVG to Security Essentials a while ago and would recommend it.

fresh installed windows 7 and noticed security essential was free... didn't have to install avg anymore... avg's upgrade popup is just getting annoying after version 8. and program update needs a reboot is also annoying.

yeah security essentials i'd recommend. obviously too late now, but always found AVG is prone to finding important files and letting you delete them.
