Is the drop of a boss decided as its spawned or is the script run on death?

Really wanted to know this for a while.

If there's a reload monster drop option you can easily check this.

First spawn the mob with old file, kill it.
Spawn a second mob with the new file, kill it, if the new item drops it's decided when it's killed if not it'll be when it's spawned.

They are decided on death.

The contents of a monsters drop files is loaded on spawn but the random for an item to drop is on death

One way I know is if you reload mon items (drops) the monsters that have spawned before the reload still have the old drop files
