hi i have just found out how to do the cruel dragon db things and i have finished but im using the manual that was in the post from farril and it ses it needs a hing to decode the !setup text thing and there is no setup text..or eiserver.exe with the cruel dragon files.....also when i try doing the dbsrv thing it comes up with win32 error the specified file cannot be found please can someone add me to msn and help me with it please.

/edit have found the setup text and the eiserver thing but when i launch the cruel dragon eiserver.exe it comes up saying ti cannot find the setup and runaddr when they r both in the folder with it please help sum1!

1. goto your sql -> account -> the first table needs an id and pass in there. quite straight forward.
2. check that you have actually got !runaddr.txt in your setup folder and contains..

127.0.0.1


in it. nothing else.

3. you always get a [win 32] error when u try to play it and all your other gates arnt running already.


note: the two exes. dbsrv and loginsrv should be opened and played last.

uve got to put hte cruel Dragon login where it says

because that is how i have set it up in sql and odbc, the !runaddr should be set up to ur ip u are going to use.

still ive got my error right when i try and connect to the server.

hmm i have alrdy got a !runaddr text in the same folder as the cruealdragon3g.exe but it still dont pick up the !setp and the !runaddr i think it is suppost to be in a folder or summit cause its cannot find. \setup\!runaddr

anyways gd news ive got all the gates working properly i was poiting the directory to the maps file instead....anyway i log on to my server but get stuck at the bit where it ses.... please wait logging onto server the menu bit that ses ok dont come up ><

well done on a totally useless post there. :dunce:


it gets stuck at 'connecting to serv..' for 3 reasons.

your pc cant handle the server files and client running at once.

you have too many spawns and npcs in game (thus your pc not handling it)

your gamegate isnt closed. (wrong ip somewhere)

you cant have currupt txt files.

are you sure you've configured your !setup.txt (using the decoder provided), correctly. correct ips, ports, passwords, paths.
