Are the Playpark servers not only for Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines? Apparently there's an IP Block on connections from other countries.

ok there is a free alt for this VPN this is curtosy of AIDA on PSO-World

Step 1: Installation

Download and install the SoftEther VPN Software using this link:

http://download.vpngate.jp/common/cd...437.129747.zip

During setup, select "SoftEther VPN Client".

Step 2: Setting up the VPN Adapter

Hit OK and wait a few minutes. The program may appear to lock up, just wait it out. After you're done, you'll have an adapter listed at the bottom, like so:

Step 3: Setting up the VPN itself

Double click "VPN Gate Public VPN Relay Servers" and hit OK at the next screen.

Click on "Line Speed" and try servers starting from the top down - This will ensure you get the least amount of lag possible. Click "Do not show this message again", then hit "Agree". Select "Use TCP Protocol" (if asked) and hit "OK".

It will now attempt to connect to the VPN. If you fail to connect, hit cancel and select a different VPN server. Once it says "Connected", you should be set!

Step 4: Testing and playing

Open Google.com in any browser - It should be in the language of the VPN server (For example, mine was Taiwanese Google).

If that works, open PSO2 and attempt to connect. If you can connect, celebrate, give asiasoft the middle finger, and post here so that we can confirm it works.

Good luck!

On the Japanese servers on ship 02 is basically mostly English speaking, and thanks to some we have an English chat channel ingame, nearly everything is in english also if you go to www.arks-layer.com/index.php english client downloads and setup guides.

Below a clip of me running through a part of Ep3.

Is it instance based or open world?

Looks really nice to be honest.

Its instance based, and it is really nice to play :) theirs about 6 classes now as their used to be 4, you also get a sub class, items are actually worth crafting as they are way better stats to normal items, mags improve gameplay theirs alot in the game to be fair.

i loved this on dreamcast, i think i only ever got it once the servers had gone down or something. i was new to the internet back then. ruined it when they changed it to a card game. would have loved to have gotten online with it, it had so much more content than the offline story.

it did get hella boring though, worse than tetris boring.
