lol, 2 minutes later, an email from support:

Based on the information you provided, this seems like a problem with your connection to our servers. Most often, these connection issues are caused by overzealous firewalls or anti-virus programs. Even if you have no active firewalls that you know of, many firewalls are installed automatically with Windows, so you may have as many as 3 and not even know it. Additionally, many Firewalls have processes that run in the background after disabling them, which still cause significant interference with our game.

We have a detailed guide to configuring your Firewalls to work properly with League of Legends. However, even when properly configured, the disabled modes or exceptions lists often do not function properly for 3rd party firewalls. In these cases it may be necessary to uninstall them. If you'd still like to give configuration a shot, you can view the article here:

If you're uncomfortable uninstalling your anti-virus, I recommend replacing your current anti-virus with Avast, which is free for home use. It even has a disabled/gaming mode for getting the most out of your system while playing League of Legends.

If the problem persists or you need further help with my instructions, please don't hesitate to contact me. However, in order to help you further I will need additional information about your system. Failure to provide the following information will make it more difficult and time consuming for me to resolve your problem:

1) Information about your network configuration: http://support.leagueoflegends.com/entries/20132863-obtaining-a-networkinfo-log
2) A process list: http://support.leagueoflegends.com/entries/20132988-obtaining-a-process-list
3) Maestro logs: http://support.leagueoflegends.com/entries/20076987-league-of-legends-logs
4) A Netalyzr: Just go to http://netalyzr.icsi.berkeley.edu/ and run the test. Once the test is complete, copy the full url and paste it into this ticket.

YEAH MATE, JUST NEEDED A REINSTALL.

[/COLOR]Reinstall worked it's patching now, why didn't i just do that in the first place? lol

Because whilst it's so very easy to do, it feels like it's effort and you would never expect it to actually work lol xD
