its cos u used to heroes res and chronicles, 2.3 runs in alot lower res 800x600 ?

AMD graphics card? you probs have same thing as me all purple n pink n ****, cant see what ur doing ingame. You will have to uninstall ur graphics card to play on 2.3's.
