Could any tell me if this is a harddrive problem. My pc was quite filled with junk a few weeks ago, but was working perfectly fine, so i decided to do a format, after that, my computer was working fine still , but after about 5 days it started to go very slow and funny, nothing was responding...

Could any1 help with a slight problem i have with disk defragmenter, my computer has lost alot of memory space and alot of people are recommending a disk defrag, ive never done one before, ive tried to though, every time i start to defrag, and error comes up saying run CHKDSK or scandisk to fix...
