Yeah same happened every time acem2 went down due to an reboot or what not, lomcn server don't cope well with the forums being so busy, maybe there look into upgrading it but it will settle back down when chronicles is up and running so probs not worth it.

My guess is we're being ddos attacked due to the launch of Chronicles. It will be looked into as soon as DF is home.

Ok thanks very much, need to refresh a page like 5 times to get it to load and someones get data packets not sent or some other error.

ive heard this term alot guys, what is a DDOS attack? and how does it work?

DDOS = Denial of Service Attack, and the forums is not ddosed, but mainly overloaded by the page requests (kind of ddos). DDOS is when you ask server so many requests that he cannot respond to you / others....making the service undeliverable.

Also chronicles is taking a hit as patcher wont even load up lol.

Typical of any major launch really

Finally the 4,000 connections are dropping and the forums are loading again :D

Finally i can login lomcn instantly without a 20minute wait and 40refreshes.

To confirm LOMCN was not ddos'd. Apache cannot keep up with the amount of connections from the Chronicles users when the server goes offline.

We are currently working on improving this, updates will be announced this week.

That doesn't explain the 6000 guests we had over that 24 hour period
