NYE in London

I know many of the forum are English mates, so since I am in holiday here at London I was thinking to watch the fireworks at NYE but I wanted to know if you had any suggestions on were is a good place to stop to see them well and any other suggestions is well accepted!

Looks like this year the fireworks will be near the London eye if not on the London eye so I am afraid it will be closed for the night. However I was thinking to stop near the big Ben to see it better but I am afraid it will be more packed than LDC
