I feel as though 90% of the posts here are false, too often do you see people saying "but I only cheated for an hour" or "I only tried it once" it's ridiculous. Personally I can tell you that I've used a lot of hacks & exe's over the years with my main objective being speed, when I was younger we couldn't afford to upgrade my PC so I used ult's speeder for a while & Mirlander before that, that's how it started for me. Along the lines I've used numerous bots, client modifications but I always end up back with the speeders purely because it's infuriating being killed by someone just because they have a better computer/access to hacks.
As it stands currently I haven't used any in a few years because I can afford a rather top notch computer, I'm at the point of speed where the difference between myself & faster people is minimal. I've also realised as I've gotten older that cheats can ruin the experience for many other people & even get servers closed in a lot of cases so I do the best I can to use my experience with all the different cheat clients to catch them these days as opposed to testing them for my own benefit.
To be better than others is the main reason I've found that people cheat, I know numerous people who cheat/have cheated & that is the reason 99% of the time but occasionally you get the people that have no interest in playing the game properly they just want to see what is possible with it through cheats & they enjoy all the crying that people do when they kill them.
At no point did I consider the consequences of my actions, the only time I've had an account banned was when I actually wasn't cheating I was just fast, during GamePot's wave of bans when the USA server first opened because GameGuard used to register everything externally as a cheat program like MSN, WMP etc. It wouldn't of bothered me if I did get caught & banned because I still had an amazing amount of fun whilst playing regardless of the time/items lost.
